Know what clothing styles to avoid when trying to downplay your stomach and stretch marks. Avoid shiny fabrics and any clothing that is too tight or fitted, especially in the stomach region. Stay away from cropped shirts, short halters and tube tops because these not only accentuate your stomach but can also highlight stretch marks as well. Be sure to wear the correct size when it comes to underwear, tights, belts and jeans. Doing so helps to avoid having a "muffin top" where your stomach pops over and above your attire.
Gently rub the bra fabric together to loosen trapped soil. In a similar fashion, rub the material of the panties together. Allow both to soak for another five minutes.
Drain the water from the sink. Rinse out the bra and panties under cool running water.
Refill the sink with cold water. Move the items around with your hand beneath the water to remove more detergent.
Drain the water from the sink. Rinse the bra and cheap lingerie again under cool water from the faucet. Place the items on a dry towel.
Press another dry towel on top of the bra and panties to remove more moisture. Allow them to dry flat and in the proper shape or hang them to dry on a clothesline.
Insert a new No. 9 or No. 11 sewing machine needle into the sewing machine. Thread the machine using nylon or silk thread. Loosen both the top and bobbin tension, but not enough to impede the production of a solid satisfactory stitch.
Set the sewing machine's stitch length to medium (10-12 stitches per inch). Nylon seams look better when there are fewer stitches per inch. Set the sewing machine to make straight stitches if you're constructing short seams and to zig-zag if you're constructing long seams. At side seams, construct French seams.
